I will spend 90 minutes with you reviewing your complete health history through a series of questions and comprehensive food review. We will discuss both short and long-term health goals. You will leave the session with 2-3 tangible goals to work on. There is plenty of time for you to ask questions and be part of the conversation and dietary plan. We will discuss exercise, stress, and sleep behaviors.

Nutrition counseling is most effective when you have regular appointments to check on progress, receive nutrition guidance and explore new goals.

These sessions are 50-minutes, and we discuss successes from the previous appointment, barriers to attaining goals, ways to keep you on track and make sustainable long-term change. Additional education, tools for success and manageable goals will be discussed. I am dedicated to helping you feel better and making changes as your body changes.

One of your biggest barriers to making changes could be your food pantry/refrigerator/freezer. If your home is stocked with nutritious foods and snacks you are setting yourself up to make better decisions and stay on track. Set yourself up for success!

Having nutrient dense staples in your home will allow you to make a balanced meal in a pinch. Your storage area should be filled with foods that nourish your body and taste good. No one wants to eat foods that are bland and unpalatable. Let me help you take this important step in making a lifestyle change! 1.5-2 hours

Ever walk around the grocery store after starting a new way of eating and think, “what am I supposed to eat?” Maybe nutrient dense foods are new to you or you don’t know how to pick fresh produce and how to read labels.

This happens more than you think. I can help you navigate a grocery store to save both time and money along with taking the confusion out of shopping. We will meet at a grocery store of your choice, go aisle by aisle and I will help you make choices that will support your goals. 90 minutes

With professional culinary training I bring my passion for cooking flavorful, whole-food meals that will help support your goals, right in your own kitchen. I work with all ages. You can request a friends cooking night, teach your teen how to survive once out of the house or help you become more confident in the kitchen. We will discuss cooking techniques along with health benefits of the meal we are preparing. This is all accomplished in your home, so you get comfortable working/cooking in your space with your equipment.

Functional Nutrition Testing

I do not submit claims to insurance for these labs. However, most labs will provide you with a receipt to submit for possible reimbursement. Often HSA/FSA accounts are accepted. Lab fees are due before kits are drop-shipped to your home.

Food Sensitivity Testing – I am a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) who can test and identify food sensitivities through a patented blood test called MRT (Mediator Release Test) that accounts for both Type 3 and Type 4 pathways. MRT not only identifies specific foods but several chemicals we find in our supply chain. By knowing both foods and chemicals that you are sensitive too, you can get more complete relief through this test and dietary protocol.

  • MRT is the most accurate and most comprehensive test on the market for determining food sensitivities with sensitivity of 94.5% and specificity of 91.7%.

  • Lifestyle Eating and Performance (LEAP) is the eating plan protocol incorporating low reactive foods into the diet to help calm inflammation, which allows your body and gut to heal. The diet is essentially an elimination diet but takes the guesswork out and is tailored to you.

MRT + LEAP is highly effective at relieving or resolving the conditions:

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis (IBD)
  • Reflux / GERD
  • Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
  • Chronic constipation, diarrhea, or abdominal discomfort
  • Eczema
  • Cystic acne
  • PCOS
  • Diabetes
  • Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
  • Grave’s disease
  • Migraine & other headaches
  • Depression & other mood disorders
  • ADD / ADHD
  • Inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid, psoriatic, ankylosing spondylitis)
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic sinusitis or ear infections

STOOL TESTING is an innovative clinical tool that measures gastrointestinal microbiota DNA from a single stool sample with state of the art, quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology.
These tests are designed to detect microbes that may be disturbing normal microbial balance or contributing to illness as well as indicators of digestion, absorption, inflammation, and immune function.

MICRONUTRIENT TESTING as opposed to macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates and fat), are comprised of vitamins and minerals which are required in small quantities to ensure normal metabolism, growth and physical well‐being.

After years of battling headaches and stomach pain after eating, along with recently learning I was pre-diabetic, I was motivated to meet with someone who could help me approach my overall nutrition for the first time. Jessica was patient to listen to my concerns, help me establish my own goals for our time together, and shared recommendations for next steps; including scheduling food sensitivity testing. Jessica is very compassionate and knowledgeable. She helped me to understand nutrition, and discuss in detail what a typical day of meals would look like for my particular needs. She helped me to navigate my goals and keep me on track with encouragement. She gave me really valuable and practical steps that I am able to continue to use, even after conquering my goal of lowering and maintaining my blood sugar. Every session helped me to feel more comfortable and confident in making the choices I needed to make to feel my best. I would highly recommend The Nourishing Co to anyone who is interested in learning how to overcome challenges when food is negatively impacting their health.
